Anna Jaques Hospital management has been working with Woodman Associates for over fifteen years. Recently, Woodman Associates was commissioned to assist in the determination of current and future site, and also building development needs. This involved the need for unusual and creative design thinking because of the severely constrained site. Woodman Associate's solution involved establishing a double spine circulation system. This will provide a literal framework for locating future building (and parking) components which will in turn link all site components for the foreseeable future.

Several newly proposed building components, along with their parking needs, provided the driving force behind initiating a system for accommodating these new elements within the existing, limited campus. The proposed projects include a medical office building, a relocated rehabilitation center, a freestanding radiation therapy facility, and a relocated emergency department.
